This is a screenshot of the feedback I gained from my fly through video i uploaded to YouTube.
I received two useful comments which i took into account and replied too.
My assignment objective was to create a prison beneath a castle during the medieval period. The setting was to be dingy, damp, dirty, dark and oppressive. And evidence of torture and interrogation.
I feel like i fulfilled this objective to the best of my ability and created a prison which ticked all the boxes.
My schedule didn't change much over the past weeks it roughly stayed the same, it mainly changed in the stages of the project where i didn't expect as much time was needed so i had to change my schedule so i could keep a clear heard and be sure i was going to complete this project on time.
The researching stage was in my opinion the easiest part of this project because their was so many options to choice from to gain the research for my project. I collected quite a lot of visual but not much written research which i didn't think would of affected my final product but because i didn't i now will never know.
My research helped me generate ideas very well.
My design pack, i includes my map of my environment created in illustrator and paint, thought i would keep it basic. I also included a gridded version to help with the modular approach. I also created a lot of hand drawn 2D and 3D sketches and gathered a lot of photographs from the internet which helped me design my objects greatly.
Environment build i spend a good amount of weeks building my entire environment in modeler before exporting into layout for texturing and cloning my objects for efficiency. I pre placed my objects in modeler and got the sizing precise so their was no fiddling around later on in layout because i new i would have difficulty with my lack of knowledge in layout compared to my knowledge in modeler.
Constructing my environment was easy as pie, because i pre placed my objects in modeler all i had to do was load then in layout and it was done. All I had to do from then on was clone the objects that needed cloning. Even the textures were pre loaded from modeler so i didn't really have to do anything when constructing the environment. The hardiest part was cloning the floor tiles to keep them seamless , it took a lot of brain power and math to keep the floor tiles in line using the X Y and Z axis but i turned out fantastic.
Presenting my project was quite an honor to do, i was basically making a film on my environment the only problem was that the processing power needed to make it a long film i didn't have so i had to keep it very short but i feel i got the job done showing my environment well.
